LIGHT & SOUND / PUBLIC EXPERIMENT

Resonance

Find your frequency.

BUILT IN THE WASATCH LAB

Find your frequency.

Resonance is a small audiovisual space built around light, motion, and sound. Drag through a living particle field, release a pulse, or change the mood with After hours, Blue hour, and First light presets. A motion slider moves the experience from still to alive, while sound and pause controls keep the pace in your hands. The field and synthesized audio respond together, turning a few simple gestures into an ambient instrument. There is no score or task to complete: the experiment is about how a responsive browser interface can create a moment of attention, play, and atmosphere.

BEHIND THE BUILD

Human direction. Working technology.

The application uses JavaScript modules, a 2D Canvas particle renderer, and requestAnimationFrame. SoundEngine uses AudioContext, oscillators, gain, a dynamics compressor, delay, and a generated reverb impulse.

Built in our in-house R&D environment. Different projects call for different tools; the experience leads the decisions.
